Tell-tale signs that you are self-sabotaging

Self-sabotage comes in many different ways and forms, with the highlight of it being the failure to take care of yourself in a way you are worthy. We tend to go through phases in life that tend to make us do crazy things in the name of love, care, pain or even grief. More often than not, we do fail to recognize the harm that we are causing to ourselves and end up in a sorry state.
In a bid to help everyone be better, below are 5 signs that you are self-sabotaging:

1. Overindulgence

This involves doing things in excess as a form of distraction. Here, you find people going to the extents of eating every hour, taking lots of alcoholic drugs to the extent that they are high at all times, sleeping 18 hours a day, spending too much time on their phones and so on and so forth. This hinders creativity and ultimately, you do not get to solve the problem.

2. Guilt-tripping others

Here, you fail to take responsibility for your bad actions and end up blaming others for them. When habit gets to you, it can be very detrimental since it will eat into your social life.

3. Giving up on your goals, dreams or targets

When you are naturally a very hardworking and competitive person, you tend to set goals and targets for yourself and will not settle until you get to crash them. However, when you find yourself having no motivation to work towards your passions, goals, targets and dreams, it is a sign that you are self-sabotaging.

4. Failing to forgive yourself

Everyone knows that no one is perfect and man is to error. In life, we tend to make mistakes and that is totally fine, long as we forgive ourselves and move past them. Still, there may come a time when you find it so hard to forgive yourself for some mistake you did in the past, hence preventing you from progressing in life. This in itself is a sign that you are self-sabotaging.

5. Constant Self-criticism

This comes out when you constantly tell yourself that you are not good enough. When this gets to you, you fail to see the good person you are and the great things that you do. You will even feel less worthy of good things presented to you.
