One thing that we do know for sure is that it is almost impossible to stay motivated in the middle of a global pandemic. With that in mind, we do know that many gyms have been closed indefinitely, forcing people to either resort to home workouts or to ditch the fitness thing till God knows when.
I have been a victim. Remember a few articles back when I told you guys that I was doing daily workouts? Well, that is not me anymore; at least not for a while now. I just carried away by my worries and anxiety about all that is going on with the world to an extent that I lost the zeal to continue working out. A few days ago though, I sat down with myself and we had a lengthy talk about what we need to do going forward and we did agree on dusting the workout space. Yes, I am back to working out but this time round, I do have a few lessons or facts that I do carry with me.
I came to realize that working out is not only important to my physical health but to my mental health as well. I realized that I become more productive and less worried and stressed when I break some sweat. Below are 4 clear tips for you to stay fit and healthy in the middle of a pandemic:
1. Watch what you eat
It is very important to realize that even if you work out, what you eat or consume plays a huge role in the outcome that you are going to have. Now that we are home pretty much most of the time, exercise some self-discipline and do not eat whenever you can, even if food is right there. When you eat a lot of junk and generally foods high in calories, you will tend to gain weight you did not plan on putting on.
2. Do Home workouts
There are a ton of home workout exercises on YouTube. You do not have to spend so much money on equipment for you to stay fit. Activities such as cycling and running are helpful too. If you can, use resistance bands for that extra oomph.
3. Manage your Triggers and Stress
It is so easy to stay in bed all day and believe that the world is ending. However, you and I both know that it is quite unrealistic to assume or believe that. As a matter of fact, you will be up to no good engraving that theory on your mind. I understand that some people have lost their loved ones to this pandemic, most have lost their sources of income but above all, we need to stay sane and positive. Staying active is one way that does help in this.
4. Set daily and weekly goals
We all love it when we accomplish those goals we do set, don’t we? The same applies on whether Coronavirus is here or not. Do set some fitness goals and work towards hitting them. The more you crash them, the more motivated you will be to keep going. This will also help you in having something to look forward to.
