6 Easy ways to Invest in Yourself in 2020

If you want to get farther in your journey towards being a better version of yourself, it is wholly advisable that you do invest in yourself. Most people believe that you definitely need money to do so but I am telling you today that not all investments are tied to money. It does not matter how old you are or where you are in life; this is important in giving you the forward push you need in life. Below are 6 easy ways to invest in yourself:

1. Read, a lot

I am definitely not the most avid reader in the room. Even so, I do ensure that I feed my soul with knowledge that I get via reading. Thing is, different people read different books and articles for different reasons. Whatever it is, challenge yourself and read more. This not only broadens your knowledge base on a lot of things but it also improves on your grammar and writing skills. One of my favorite books is We are Going to need more wine by Gabrielle Union.

2. Eat Healthy Foods

Let no one lie you that eating healthy is only meant for those who have certain shortcomings. Your mind, body and soul rely on what you feed them with for them to function. Consume more of fruits, vegetables and healthy salads and less of junk foods and processed drinks. Also, cut down on alcoholic drinks and other drugs.

3. Exercise

There are many ways to exercise that are not tied to you going to the gym. You could go for Zumba classes, do yoga, go swimming, cycling, mountain climbing and even aerobics. Do whatever you are comfortable doing as long as you are staying active. This is beneficial for your physical and mental health.

4. Surround yourself with people that are good for your soul

The top 5 people that you surround yourself with speak much about you as a person. In addition, these same people impact on your energy and how you view life. Make sure that you stay away from people that hurt your soul and give you low self-esteem.

5. Identify your Strengths and Weaknesses

A few days ago, a close friend mentioned that I do play victim a lot. I remember having this conversation about 2 times prior and all along, I could not admit to this. It took me a lot of introspection for me to finally say that I am guilty of the same. This is something that I am on a journey to conquer. Such weaknesses may come out in negligible ways which means that you may hardly even notice them. It is important that you find out what your strengths areas well as your weaknesses. This makes you more self-aware, leading you to having a healthier relationship with yourself and with others.

6. Take Care of yourself

There is no one quite like you and there is no one who can take care of yourself in a better way than you can. Therefore, it is your responsibility to ensure that your mental health is on check. Have enough sleep, meditate, buy yourself things that nourish you and practice gratitude.
