25 Unspoken Rules in Life- The most important ones

The most important thing in life is realizing that no one is going to sit you down and force some harsh rules down your throat. You may be the best person in your class, the most intelligent person in your organization or the most street-smart person that ever lived, but if you do not know some of the most important unspoken rules in life, you are as good as unknowledgeable. Below are 30 of the most important unspoken rules in life:
  1. Leave the door open for the person behind you.
  2. If you find yourself borrowing something for the third time, you need to have your own.
  3. If someone shows you a picture on their phone or tablet, do not swipe left or right.
  4. Allow people to leave the lift before you get in. Trying to force yourself into a lift when people want to leave it is uncouth behavior.
  5. Do not cause drama or a scene at a funeral.
  6. Do not propose at someone else’s wedding.
  7. If you show up late today, try your best to be early tomorrow.
  8. If you cancel on me today, it is your duty to reschedule.
  9. When you borrow someone’s car, return it with the tank full.
  10. Make money before you spend it. Do not spend what you do not have.
  11. Never put all your eggs in one basket.
  12. Learn to say ‘thank you’ and ‘sorry’. I learnt this from my dad by the way.
  13. If you cannot buy it twice, you cannot afford it.
  14. When you are out for a meal, the person who ordered the cheapest meal is the only one who can and should offer to split the bill evenly. This is because if done otherwise, the rest will be unjust to him or her.
  15. Never speak badly of someone’s place of residence especially if you forced yourself to visit.
  16. Do not brag using someone else’s wealth, including your parents. As a matter of fact, just learn stay humble.
  17. If you are out in public, do not blast your music. This is because not everyone has the same taste in music as you do. If you must listen to music in public, please use your earphones or headphone.
  18. Accept your mistakes. No one is a know-it-all.
  19. Respect everyone, including their decisions until they give you a reason not to.
  20. When you borrow something from someone and it gets spoilt, make sure that you repair it before returning it.
  21. Never tell on other people’s secrets, even if you cut ties with them.
  22. Do not loan other people an amount that is more than you are willing to give away.
  23. Do not asked married or newlyweds when they are going to have kids. Some people are barren and others are not even planning to have kids, so that should not be your concern.
  24. Do not leave the trolley in the aisle of the shopping center or supermarket.
  25. Do not tell someone who naturally has more fat that they would look better when skinny.
