You know, being a lady requires more than the universe can ever imagine. From growing a human being to worrying about things that anyone barely notices, women are undeniably one of the most distinctive creatures that ever existed.
Today’s article is all about the 10 things about being a woman that a woman may hardly ever tell you as a man. Before I delve into it, let me make it clear that the opinions here are pretty subjective. Women and men alike may agree or disagree with them, which is totally okay. Here they are:
There is something about being a woman and crying that seems to go hand in hand. I am yet to meet a woman who cannot understand how occasional crying is therapeutic. Seriously though, when I am arguing, tears form from nowhere and no, I do not use it as a defense mechanism. As a matter of fact, I really hate it when I cry in an argument since all I wanted to be was gangsta, then voila, tears!
A while back when I was still living with my big sister, a rat made its way into our small rented apartment. Let me tell you; on that day, I became a certified rock climber. Also, you don’t want to hear me scream when I see a rat.
Whether a woman is 15 or 45, the nightmare that is periods will never stop being such a bother. Every time that red light shows, we are just as perturbed as the lady who had periods for the first time. Moral of the story; no woman can ever get used to the crumps, emotional mess-up and discomfort that comes with monthly periods.
4. Nothing to wear
As women, what we mean by this statement is that ‘this look doesn’t match how I had planned in my head.’ We could have a wardrobe overflowing with clothes but if we cannot find what suits how we want to look, then we do not have anything to wear.
5. Weight and Body size
For some reason, most women are always concerned about their weight. It is either I am too thick, too skinny, with hip-dips, no curves, too curvy, fat, with love handles, small boobs, gigantic boobs, skinny arms or short legs. It is rare to find a woman who loves her body and appreciates it. There is always something that can be improved.
The truth of the matter is, most women who call themselves feminists have a wrong idea about the term. Most of the preach women empowerment but fail to look at the equality bit.
Most women love making money and spending even more money. That is why most women are always caught up in these loan apps.
Women naturally spend so much time, money and energy on their hair than they do their skin or many other things that matter. We end up having an entire collection of hair products, some which we have tried and disliked. For black women, we end up turning down swimming dates because that will mess up with our hair.
This is one of the most controversial topics about womanhood and life in general. It is quite hard to find a balance between pro-life and pro-choice, which makes it even harder for people to openly admit or talk about this topic.
Most, if not all women, are scared about getting raped. It has nothing to do with age, appearance, size, time, dressing, race or even class. It can happen to any lady anywhere and this is something that we are always worried about. Sadly, most women find it difficult to speak up when they go through it and they end up living with the trauma for so many years. Men, you will be shocked when you find out how many people that you know that have been raped or sexually violated in one way or another.
